NOVEMBER MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
All,
As we get closer to ending our year at the Chamber, I would like to take this time to reflect on my six years as the Chamber President. I am so thankful to be working with an exceptional and talented group of staff members that makes my job so much easier and to see their dedication and community commitment each day is astounding. I am also thankful for a very supportive Chamber Board of Directors that has allowed us to do many new and different things over the last six years, all of which have benefited our five service communities. Their guidance and direction have provided us with a pathway to continue to grow in members and services.
So let me add to my message this month, a few words about the true meaning of "Thanksgiving". Thanksgiving is a treasured tradition that brings us together around two powerful values: gratitude and generosity. The "thanks" in Thanksgiving encourages us to reflect on the many blessings we share within our communities—opportunities, friendships, and the collective achievements that strengthen our bonds. By appreciating these shared gifts, we foster unity and resilience, acknowledging that each of us contributes to a larger, interconnected whole.
Equally important is the “giving” spirit of this holiday, which calls on us to extend our time, support, and resources to those around us. Through acts of kindness and service—whether it’s sharing a meal, volunteering, or reaching out to a neighbor in need—we help build a stronger, more compassionate community. Thanksgiving serves as a reminder that by joining gratitude with generosity, we create a continuous cycle of connection and care, deepening the ties that make our communities thrive.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
John
